Northside Enterprise Centre - Details

Northside Enterprise Centre is a initiative of the Coolock Development Council in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, Dublin City Council, Dublin City Enterprise Board and Northside Partnership.

The centre, comprising 22 units was constructed at a cost of €2.3M and officially opened by The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Harney TD in February 2003. At the opening the Tánaiste said “ This centre is in response to the need of Coolock and its environs and is aimed at fostering an enterprise culture in the area. The centre provided the sort of suitable workspace at competitive prices that is crucial to the growth of small businesses.

Enterprise Centre such as this facilitate and add considerably to the area’s capability to support enterprise development. The Centre will facilitate job creation and support local enterprises.” The Centre is designed to maximize the provision of space for micro start-ups, and the provision of modern training and conference room facilities. It was constructed to the highest standards and units are allocated on the basis of a sound business plan which must indicate commercial viability and the ability to meet their commitments.

Northside Enterprise Centre, forms part of an integrated development on the Coolock Development Centre site which accommodates various community projects including Youthreach, Northside Partnership, Northside Counselling , St Michael House Day Care Centre, and a number of CE and JI programmes. The Centre is managed by Northside Facilities & Services, a company funded by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs under the Community Services Programme.
